光と影が描く、継承のかたち。
MARNO Collection N°9 を象徴するオリジナルジャカードは、
1980 年代のアーカイブ図案から着想を得て、桐生の地で制作されました。
かつての図案に宿る美意識を、今の感覚で見つめ直し、現代の衣服として纏えるかたちへと再構築しています。
The original jacquard developed for MARNO Collection N°9 was inspired by archival patterns dating back to the 1980s and woven in Kiryu,
a region long known for its textile heritage. Rather than preserving the past as it was, the collection reinterprets the beauty
and sensibilities embedded within these patterns, translating them into garments for the present day.
手仕事の時間
私たちはこの生地が生まれる群馬県桐生市を訪ね、実際に工場で制作の工程を見せていただきました。
糸作りから、織り、染め、仕上げまで。
一枚の生地が完成するまでには、いくつもの手と、時間が重ねられています。
機械の音の中で、職人の方が目で確かめ、手で整えながら、生地の表情をつくっていく。
そこには、完成したものだけでは語りきれない、静かな緊張感と美しさがありました。
We visited Kiryu, Gunma, where the fabric was created, and witnessed the making process firsthand.
From spinning and weaving to dyeing and finishing, each stage is shaped through the hands of skilled artisans and the passage of time.
Amid the rhythmic sound of the looms, every thread is carefully adjusted and refined, gradually revealing the fabric’s unique character.
There, we found a quiet tension and beauty that cannot be fully conveyed through the finished garment alone.
見えない工程がつくる奥行き。
このジャカードは、光を受けることで柄が浮かび上がり、影の中では輪郭を曖昧にします。
遠くから見れば、静かでミニマルに。
近づくほどに、織りの表情や陰影が現れる。
光の角度や、見る距離によって変化するその佇まいは、装飾とは異なる奥行きを生み出しています。
This jacquard reveals its pattern when touched by light, while its contours soften within shadow.
From a distance, it appears quiet and minimal.
As one moves closer, the texture of the weave and subtle layers of shadow begin to emerge.
Changing with light and perspective, it creates a sense of depth that goes beyond ornamentation.
Worn Inheritance
光と影。過去と現在。伝統と日常。
その重なりの中で、受け継がれてきた感覚は新しいかたちとして息づいていく。
Light and shadow. Past and present. Heritage and everyday life.
Within these overlapping layers, inherited sensibilities find new form and continue to live on.
